CAKES, FILLINGS & FROSTINGS | 11 AM - 2:30 PM
Join us for an exciting cooking class, where you'll start your culinary journey with a welcome drink and light nibbles to set the mood!
Create a celebration cake that tastes every bit as beautiful as it looks! Join Andrei Godoroja, winner of The Great Canadian Baking Show, for an advanced, hands-on pastry class devoted to filling, frosting, and assembling cakes.
Settle in with a selection of fresh fruit and baked goods before class begins. Then, under Andrei’s guidance discover how to pair luscious fillings with velvety buttercream as you create your own multi-layered, six-inch cake. Andrei will demonstrate techniques for trimming and levelling cake layers, adding fillings, and applying frosting to achieve a beautifully finished result. You will then put these techniques into practice with his guidance throughout the class.
During the session, you will prepare several types of creams for filling and frosting, explore flavour combinations, and learn how to bring each element together. Choose from the flavours prepared in class to personalise your creation and make it your own.
Leave with new pastry skills, fresh inspiration, and a finished cake to take home and share—perfect for a special celebration or simply treating yourself and those you love.

Andrei Godoroja was first asked to teach a pastry course a few years ago, which puzzled Andrei, as he has a degree in Engineering Physics and no training in pastry. However, he went on to be in Season 2 of The Great Canadian Baking Show and, in fact, won.
Andrei believes a background in Physics was good preparation for pastry, but not necessary, and is enthusiastic about showing people how to master something that many people actually fear.
